'You know the king is in town' - Conor McGregor arrives in Rio for UFC 179

The Irish fighter will be octagon-side for Saturday’s big fight.

HE MAY NOT be fighting this weekend but Conor McGregor certainly has skin in the game so it’s no surprise to see him land in Brazil ahead of Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes’ featherweight title fight at UFC 179 this weekend.

McGregor who arrived in Rio with Gary Cooke -the UFC’s Chief Global Officer – is quickly recognised outside the airport despite it being his first time in Brazil.

“They’re good people the Brazilians, especially the females,” says McGregor before discovering his limousine is bulletproof.

“You know I’m in town. You know the king is in town when there’s bulletproof vehicles dropping me from a to b.”
